Giving Peace a Chance

World Without War - A Day of Resistance and Hope - March 15th 2008

PDX Peace - a coalition dedicated to seeing an end to the Iraq war - has organized a day long event at the Park Blocks in Portland Oregon. The event starts at 10am and ends at 6pm. A rally starts at 2pm followed by a march. There will be music all day, including a performance by David Rovics. Read more at www.pdxpeace.org

Even if you're not in the North West, take time this Saturday to remember all those who have lost lives, loved ones, and suffered in the horrible conflict.  May nonviolence and truth find a way out of this, let it be.

Raffi - and a new adventure

I've recently started a new adventure - teaching young children through my Unitarian Universalist church how to care for themselves, each other and the Earth. Soon I encountered the music of Raffi and now I'm a fan (as is my 3 year old daughter).

Raffi's life story begins in Cairo, born to Armenian parents. He now resides in Canada - British Columbia. Raffi introduced the philosophy of Child Honouring as a way to change the direction that humankind is following. Visit his website to learn more. But in the meantime, enjoy this song about global warming with guest David Suzuki.
